Its about the price point.

I have a massive demand for bone china mugs but not at the prices I need to charge for the item. They are so much more expensive that it simply is not viable.

Hey Steamy, let me know how you get on with the China mugs!
How straight are they, do they print well? With what ink and press settings?
Thanks

Hi to one and all.
Thanks for the replies, have checked out Xpres unfortunately they are the small ones that are available from a few suppliers I' looking for the standard size china mug. There's a company called Stubs Mugs who do a pre-printed one via pad printing but don't sell sub blanks, so there are some about.
JHP if I ever get my hands on some I'll let you know how I get on with them.
Cheers

Not necessarily so, bone china suitable for sublimation has to be straight and has to have the coating on it. If you wanted standard bone china mugs then somewhere like Jacksons Clear Glass probably have a huge range, but none of them will have any coating. These can be pad printed as ceramic screen ink does not require any special coating to the outside of the ceramic.

There are China versions of the standard Durham available but it largely comes down to volume required. The handfull of suppliers I know that do the China options do like a bit of volume and often are not interested in doing a box or 2. I am surprised there are not more link ups with some of the large mug importers and the regular everyday Subli supplier.

Mmmm I wonder how much interest there would be if standard china mugs could be supplied in smaller quantities at a reasonable price?
