I should clarify that I do not deal with the public. I can see that if I had to deal with them then I would not get away with that much of a mark up.

We mainly deal to trade, and round our deliveries from £8.39 that the courier charges to £10 - this covers us for the time it takes to package items, and additional cost of packaging. It is called "postage AND packaging" they are not just paying for the actual delivery.

Also, if we have a large amount of orders to ship (say following a trade show) the the extra £1.61's on the smaller orders offset the larger orders which cost us more. We charge a flat rate of £10 per order, rather than having a postage paid MOQ threshold.

For the few sales we have direct to public, then we charge lower where possible.
