A Pre press and second press has worked well, the second press being around 5-10 seconds as you already said the removal of the the vinyl backing pulls the vinyl away from the material.. We give care sheets with our garments and recommend for vinyl print to wash inside out, warm gentle wash and not to tumble dry... Never iron directly on the vinyl.. Here's a good link to print off.. Trouble is, folks seldom read washing instructions, or if they do, they are soon forgotten. :frown: Then you have the question of practicality. People will just throw tees in with the regular washing and then straight into the tumble dryer, as it not practical to wash sweaty tees at low temperatures, or to leave them to drip dry leaving pools of water all over the floor.

I enclose wash instructions with my vinyl tees just out of courtesy, but subli tees probably come out of top for washability and absence of post printing problems.

You should never tumble dry tee shirts with transfers.

I have always thought that I should include a peelable sticker on the front of the garment that simply states "DO NOT TUMBLE DRY" but after speaking to loads of customers apparently everyone knows this already. So now I do not bother and never had any complaints.

I always tell customers not to tumble dry, as vinyl hates tumble dryers.

we have a small sticker that says "wash inside out - DO NOT TUMBLE DRY" it goes with our shirts, whatever is on them, vinyl, flock or transfer - as you can imagine the T shirt label is there and says it can be tumble dried - they never think aah well its had something put on it so now i cant. - so a little reminder on a sticker, makes sure you have done your part.

with the price of electricity i am surprised anyone uses a tumble dryer anymore - well except for exercising cats and dogs

i used to press 100's of shirts a day we re-pressed everything for 5 seconds with teflon sheet over the top , no need to play with temp
