Re: Printed my first 3D iPhone case :-)
Printed my first good iPhone case tonight on my new 3D machine. It's far from perfect but I'm working on it! Taping the edges needs a little patience but it's getting better. Images look a bit blurry (low light!) but it's quite sharp.

Looks good Justin.
What 3D machine did you go for in the end? Does the one you use have the option to use film?
I had to quote on 1000 phone covers the other day and offered them 3D for the iphone models on the basis that the cost to them would essentially buy me a new machine. But I have not got the patience to tape them and would definitely needs a film capable version

Made by a company called Mito in China. Not intended for use with film, although I'll explore every avenue
I'll get a film version if this takes off for me but wanted to dip my toe in the 3D market and see what can be done and what sells....and for what I paid it would be daft not to
Machine is pretty well built, certainly as good if not better than the 3D machines flooding into the UK right now. It's a larger pressing area as well.

Re: Printed my first 3D iPhone case :-)
Bought it at the show and carted it home Simon
They sell them at £350+shipping which isn't a bad price really.....but I paid £250 to take it there and then....along with bags of samples etc.
Communication with them isn't bad at all, slight language barrier but they appear to be trying hard. I'm in touch with the company who bought a larger machine on the day as well so we can 'compare notes' and yes, I did say £250

Darn you and your Scottish wallet
Mind you at £350 that is not a bad price, I suspect shipping might double that price though. Will follow your threads on this with interest and go from there.

Lol, long pockets and shorts arms
really couldn't pass it by for that much. I printed a case the other night and it was awful but I spent some time working it out tonight and on the whole I'm pleased. Once I get the corners wrapped better I'll be happier
