Re: Chromaluxe layout displays

Post by Justin »

Finally got around to ordering some Chromaluxe from Listawood to print up some sample wall displays, 3 x 3 tiles etc.

I was a little confused over the fixings required to hang these panels to the wall. Becoming clearer now but I'm wondering what anyone else uses for this as they seem very expensive. E.g. 9 small panels are £26+vat. Fixing kits for these add on another £15/£20+vat.

Not sure if I'm missing something here but they really do seem expensive. I expect these displays to fetch a premium but not sure how far that can be pushed! :-)

We do a lot of chromaluxe panels for photographers around the UK and found the same thing about the mount blocks being expensive especially for a piece of MDF.....however I looked into getting some of our own made and most companies wanted considerably more per block than we can buy them in at despite wanting a reasonable quantity.

I thought that might be the case, unless you can buy in mega quantities. I'm sure there must be cheaper ways to do but I guess not necessarily better ways.

I need to sit and work out what these layouts would be sold at to see if it's worthwhile.

I nearly bought some today as well Justin and was wondering about the fixings. How do they look once fixed though? I like the fact you can mix and match layouts though and will be ordering some soon for sure to display in the shop as I reckon the local photographers would be interested.

Yes, the layouts really do look good. I've not seen the fixings yet due to cost concerns, I'm waiting to hear back from Xpres about this. As they are self adhesive I guess you get one shot at getting them central which could be fun! lol.

Lol that's pretty much the right reason why I didn't order some from them today either. I might get a couple of samples to test out but I am concerned that its a one shot deal with getting the fixing right. Soo tempted by them though cause I've got a little rectangular one and it prints so well!

Cheers TLW, however what I am not understanding is the wall fixings part and where Justin got £15-20 for a 9x9 set up

The fixings are between £2 & £3 each. Layout is 3x3 tiles so 9 to be fixed.
