Surely the humble manual tape dispenser would save you hours???

Exactly what I use SMO.

Useful tip, if the spindle is too small for the heat tape then wrap around the spindle with masking tape until it pads out enough

We have a few manual dispensers dotted around - as they tend to wander, or hide under piles of paper. They do go missing a lot less than when we just had loose rolls. The dispenser makes them more substantial and easier to see/find!

Shamelessly bringing this old thread back to life just for a bit of fun!!

So, I found a decent automatic tape machine for around £75 shipped from China but they wouldn't accept my £70 offer so I haven't bothered yet.

In the meantime I put my thinking cap on and came up with an incredibly clever and technically complicated solution.......{insert tongue in cheek emoji!]

As you can see in the video, this is a £15 (inc. shipping from China) automatic dispenser. It only accepts small rolls so I had to improvise to get sublimation tape through it. Joking aside, we used this at Xmas and it was really useful. I use it most days fro sublimation tape and it works just fine!! OK, I need to refine the design but it's just for fun!
