Re: What do they use?

Post by dazzul »

Hello :)

I was wondering what people used for pressing to cotton , ive tried some t shirt trasnfer paper and i tihkn that the finished item looks too much like a shiny rubber.

Am i expecting too good of results with these papers or can they be done with papers. I was hoping for a similar effect to what shops use for slogans on shirts. I was just looking at my little ones baby vests and they have some "me to you" bears printed on, the image does stretch which makes me think they may be screened as my paper is like a thin thin sheet of printable vinyl kind of stuff.

Thanks :)

What paper are you using? And type of printer?
ive moved to laser printer and The magic touch paper, which is 100% better in my opinion than standard transfer paper.

The result im looking for is similar to what you currently see in primark with there printed, it looks like its subbed just that its 100% cotton. Maybe i will upload a photo of what i mean?

The pic looks like DTG or if the quantities are high enough maybe screen printing. I use TTC with an oki laser printer at the moment for full colour pics onto white tees but am still to find a decent enough transfer paper for coloured tees that I am happy enough to sell to a customer. I normally ask what kind of finish they would like as well as their budget as DTG is not cheap but for short runs is an amazing finish IMHO.

Best feel i ever achived was with yolo transfer paper soft strech. Once is pressed, peeled off and then repressed i always strach it. This way i have perfectly acceptable result.
