Paypal protection my A*"'#
Re: Paypal protection my A*"'#
I bought a B1100 on the 31st May that was listed on ebay as never been used, the seller had it on bids so i sent him an offer and he accepted and i paid via paypal. I received the printer but could tell by they rubbish packaging i was going to have problems.
i opened the printer cover and the heads were covered in ink, so i tried to run a nozzle check but all i kept getting was a paper jam message, i tried printing pages through coraldraw but got the same message.
I messaged the seller to say the printer was used as there was ink on heads and i kept getting paper jam message, his reply was so what. So i contacted paypal for advice as i bought it outside of ebay but still through paypal so they advised me to open a case against seller through paypal which i did and was told to return the printer so i did via 24hr courier, after many phone calls and getting told rubbish by paypal i finally got through to someone who wanted to help today only to be told that the seller has told them i did not send the correct printer back and they have sided with him, so now he has the printer back and my money so lets just say angry is not the word as how come i don't get a say in this they have just believed him, i have told them check the tracking from the courier it will show the same exact weight as when he sent it as i just put it straight back in box he sent it in.
So much for buyer protection.

If he says you have not sent the same printer back, ask him to prove it. If he is that adamant that it is not th esame, he should have some sort of proof. When I have sent out printers I make a record of the serial number, as I have had someone try it on before and caught them out!
Re: Paypal protection my A*"'#
Thats what i said to paypal, but their reply was he has written a statement and signed it to say its not the correct printer and they class that as a legal binding document.
So i replied why can't i submit a statement to say he is full of rubbish to which they said sorry we can only accept his statement.

I'm with Paul on th efact that if he is saying that it is not the printer he sent you, then he must return it to you, he can use Collect Plus at £6.99, and then take it to the police.

I had a bad experience on Ebay a few years ago. I bought a set of Beatles Autographs said to be genuine, but they were preprinted. The seller wasn't interested when I contacted him, and would not co-operate, so I contacted the police station nearest to his home, they were very helpful. I gave them his phone number, they contacted him and I got my money back 3 days later!

The police wont be interested so dont bother wasting your time.
Your best bet is MCOL (money claim online - small claims court basically) and sue him. Its very simple to use and doesnt cost much either.
