Roland CX300 and contour cutting ..

I have a Roland CX300 cutter and wish to do some contour cutting. Have not done contour cuts before with it so some information and guidence would be appreciated. For all my sign work i use Signlab 7.1 which supports contour cuts. Its the manual use of regitration marks that is particularly confusing ....
