Thanks for all the comments. To give you a better idea of the situation, here's what happened. In Nov. 2011 whilst working at Butlins as a security officer, there was a big fight involving around 20 guests. All available security were called and my husband attended after it had spilled out from one of the nightclubs. Witout any warning he was hit in the forehead with a brick and whilst on the floor unconcious, he was kicked around. The outcome was that he was in hospital under intensive nursing for 4 days. [no room in intensive care!] He suffered slight brain damage, had 6 stitches in his forehead and had internal bleeding around the kidney area on his right side. Luckily the bleeding started easing up enough to avoid an operation.
He is stick off work due to the injuries as he still gets pain in his side. Butlins basically ignored him after a couple of weeks and stopped paying him. We have started a claim against Butlins but they are fighting it all the way. We still haven't got all the paperwork we need as the court case against the people that injured him has only been over a few weeks.
It is so frustrating as it is Butlins fault we are in this position and it is unfortunate that the house situation has happened now. We are going to contact the solicitor on Monday and see if he can gee it all up a bit, but we don't hold out much hope for that.

As an ex doorman myself all I can say is well done to him for not backing down, he'll know what I mean, but doesn't help much to the situation.
was he working for butlins or sub contracted? Are the people being charged? Defo a case for criminal injuries dept.
i did the same in the 90,s ended up with a police truncheon over my head and nearly 6 years for afray! And all I was doing was protecting the public from a bunch of valley commandos on the pixx.
anyway all the best with whatever happens

Worked for Butlins for about 2 yrs. SIA trained. 7 went to court, 5, who pleaded not guilty, got suspended sentences and community service [now called unpaid work]. The other 2 pleaded guilty. One got 8 months prison and the other, who did the physical attack on my husband got 3 yrs. He has now appealed against his sentence.
There was a small payout from the criminal injuries board in the July after it happened.
