Blimey, that seems a long while ago :-) I did do yes and it's worked very well for me. I've just got a Ricoh 7100 though so might (might) sell the 1500 on. I'm tempted to keep it as the print quality is excellent being a 6 colour machine but it may prove to be redundant.

That raises the question of why replace it with the Ricoh...?

It wasn't too long we upgraded from 4 colour to 7 colour wide format, and there's no way I'd want to go back to only CMYK

Several reasons..... curiosity as much as anything but I wanted to try a cleaner solution (carts) My main concern is the print quality going back to 4 colour but I'm giving it a go...and keeping hold of my 6 colour printers in case :-) At least if I own one, have tried one, I can comment from experience.

May well take the next step and go large format pisquee at some stage so will start a thread on options ;-)

It is the simplicity of the Ricoh that is attracting me, the price of the Epson thats attractive. Oh hum....

Yeah, shame it is only a four colour printer, and also a shame that he put them into one sale - we would be interested in the press, but not the printer

Justin did you use the refillable catrs for the 1500 ?. My 1400 looks like it has gone to printer heaven. I really would like to just swap it over to the 1500 if the carts are the same. I don't like the CISS systems, found them a pain over the years. I only just bought several bottles of Artanium ink this week so don't want to waste it.

I started with refil carts and moved over to a cis. This has worked fine, I couldn't get a unit for the 1500 so adapted the 1400 unit and it works fine.
