Re: should i give up on epson s22???
I enjoy playing around with things and dissecting them, so what would recommend my learned friend from Durham? This world is exciting, and expensive, isn't it?!

If you can pick one up at a good price, then look out for Epson Stylus Pro models - anything from the 4000/7600/9600 era onwards really, along with some refill carts. These are proper professional/commercial/industrial printers made for Epson by Mutoh (i think)

Your problem isn't Epson, but merely the printer choices we have in sublimation. The S22 is a budget printer and will give you a budget performance. I looked at the equipment choices around at the moment and decided on the Epson Workforce 4015, it's a very sturdy piece of kit, The carts were from cityink express and I filled it up with bottled ink...no problems. Profiles, support, hand holding all available on this forum.
The Ricoh certainly isn't faultless, it leeches ink to keep it running smoothly, that's fine if you were using budget ink, but sub ink is far from it.
