Re: Which Cutter? With all software to get?
Right i have a cameo and a chinese REFINE 870 Cutter, they are both going up for sale soon for reasons. What im after is a Cutter in the £300 mark that comes with a software and all drivers for Windows 8, Is there one on the market? ive seen this one pop up but does anyone have one? Creation Pcut Vinyl Cutter/ Cutting Plotter CTO630 28 inch (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Good-Quality- ... 3f1e5a579d)
If not this one what do you recommend and why? please dont say Roland etc as im still saving for that one...

Depends on your reasons for getting rid of the other two I guess. I can't see the Pcut being much better than the Refine imo.

Re: Which Cutter? With all software to get?
i know justin but as i bought it second hand im really after the after care etc that comes with it, ive been trying to get the Refine working for days now to no avail so im guessing i want one that just works straight out of the box. As for the cameo i love it on small jobs but as soon as i do a large piece of work it slips and ruins it. so im thinking of getting rid of the two to pay for one! i was thinking about this before but managed to buy the refine at a good price but she just wont work with my pc.

Appreciate your position. I just don't think this one would be a step up in any way. Not sure how good the support would be, that might make all the difference. I was actually going to do exactly the same thing, sell my MH721 and Cameo in favour of a Graphtec/Roland (Oh I miss my Roland) but stuck with them both and so far it's worked out ok.
A second hand Roland would be ideal, couple of GX24's on eBay but they'll go for more than your budget. A CX24 should be around £400 mark second hand and is a superb bit of kit for the money but alas not many around.
Hopefully someone will be able to advise on what you need and offer up a decent solution within your budget.

The Silhouette software is very good isn't it? lol.
This was the last problem with my MH721, couldn't get on with any of the software. Downloaded a trial of SignGo Lite which I don't think is too expensive, this seems pretty good and set up very easily...unlike other programs! I'm happy as a pig in much though.....finally got my cutter working directly from Coreldraw

TBH - i'd persevere with the 2 you have now, whichever new plotter you'd buy, you'd still have to set it up - and that's the part you're struggling with now!.
Artcut is a decent starter software that should be ideal for your refine.

Re: Which Cutter? With all software to get?
Does anyone have any reviews on a refine cutter, as I know little about it . I'm not complaining as I bought it off a member on this site and it was a bargain. I'm just a bit frustrated with getting it to work. I suppose when I do I will be happy with the both.
How much is artcut? Where can I download a legit copy

What problems are you having getting it to work Dave? Is it getting it connected to PC, not cutting properly, vinyl slipping?

Re: Which Cutter? With all software to get?
I can't get it to connect to pc at the moment, but it don't help as I have no original software just yet, hopefully get some soon. I tried sign blazer but it kept crashing, I've tried artcut but can't download a naughty copy just yet. But I've just found a full PDF manual for all refine cutters witch has started to explain a few things, will read this and in the mean time work on some software.
