Re: Adkins Studio Mug Press Temp
Just plugged this new press in for the first time and it's a little different.
Put safety mug in to raise temperature to operating temp.
Put print mug into press, close handle and the press automatically starts the countdown...
How do I know if it reaches the full 180 degrees again?
Also, after I take the printing mug out and place the safety mug back in, the press starts counting down again.
Is the safety mug necessary for the Adkins? The auto features are a bit weird after being manual!

Don't close the handle completely with the safety mug in, just until it's touching. Yes, always use a blank mug in between. Auto is cracking
Once up to temp, put your mug to be printed in and set it to around 180c 180secs or thereabout, you may need to tweak but that works for me.

Re: Adkins Studio Mug Press Temp
My old press would display the actual temperature when the cold mug went in. I would see the temp rise and know that it reached 180 degrees. The Adkins only displays the timer countdown.

It will show you the temp as well, you have the timer setting displayed at the moment.

Also, there was note saying you should use very light pressure conflicting with the user instructions. I got faded blurred mugs with light pressure...it needs a decent medium pressure.
All this new equipment and dud mugs, it's like starting all over again! At least an NHS staff room has nice new mugs

Dud mugs? no excuse for that! lol.
I've had my Adkins for a few years now. They do say light pressure and I questioned this with them which they back up. You do need a firm to heavy pressure to ensure a good print, I've done a lot through this press and I'm still on the same blanket. If you could get away with light pressure that would be fine....but you can't

I'm sure that I pressed every button trying to find the actual temp?Justin;69682 wrote:It will show you the temp as well, you have the timer setting displayed at the moment.

Is yours the single head with horizontal blanket? When I switch mine on I have to press and hold the start/stop button momentarily to start the heating...but it does show the temp as soon as switched on.

Yes the single head with horizontal blanket. I press the start button and I only get the countdown. The temperature rising button constantly flashes throughout the entire 180s, but still can't see the current temperature while the print mug is pressing.
