I trust my eyes on most things but do not normally deal with the t. shirt side of things, I have to take over whilst the person is on maternity leave. I have a high standard to follow and till I find my feet and trust my judgement and my eyes, I was reasonable confident till I came to xl then my eye lost the plot and I was there for ages just dithering, that's not good so till my eye stays on the ball I'll find another way, hopefully the logo it is whats neededsocialgiraffe;69492 wrote:Personally I have always used my eye. Measuring is all well and good but when placing a logo/image if you are out by 10mm no one will notice due the shape of a body. Have seen these things before and I look at them with the same view as the "t-shirt folder" - Over engineered and not necessary.
Trust your judgement and your eyes and you will be fine
Just my opinion

Re: Measurement
If doing a job which is likely to be repeat, and needs to be in exactly the same place every time then i would use it. There are many markings on the logo it, so you can decide where you want the logo to sit in relation to the centre neck, measuring down and across. I keep a book with all the different measurements for the different jobs. Sometimes this also includes different measurements for different sizes. I usually set by eye for the first one, and then take measurements. This depends very much on the size and shape of the logo to be applied, and also different customer expectations of position.
Re: Measurement
I am definitely going to look into one of these.. I use a good ole fashion tape measure at the moment.. and write down my measurements if likely to be repeated.. but it could be so much easier lol

Re: Measurement
I find for t shirts etc for men it is relatively easy to position by eye to start with and then replicate with a ruler for all but small and XL and above. I find they need different positioning.
Where I find it helpful to have my lady wife around is the positioning of images on the ladies clothing. Unfortunately she doesn't have a 'pneumatic chest' like Jordan or Mrs Beckham (meaning they seem to be a different size every time you see them in public) so we have to use a degree of 'judgement' in the, shall we say the more generous sizes. Hence the positioning of logos/transfers etc on female clothing is never going to be 'spot on' but a compromise.
Just my experience. If others have a better method I would be interested.

Re: Measurement
I totally agree on the ladies bust measurements lol.. I had a very well endowed customer and even though the t-shirt looked fine on.. everything to me was wrong lol

Re: Measurement
Does the logo it go up to 2xl, I'm looking mainly for chest logs, had a look at their website but does not say how it used but have instructions. There is no phone number and I do like to ask questions before I place a order. I can't see me doing numbers so would I need the t squareSand & Sea;69493 wrote:I use both the logo it and T square and find that the T square is even more useful than the logo it, as it has a 24" ruler which helps to centre transfer/vinyl across front or back of t-shirts, although I don't use the actual T square part much, except for things like number 8 on football shirts. I personally have found them worth every penny!

logos are usually placed on the left side of the chest. The design should be centered between the middle of the shirt and the seam with the top of the design 7 to 9 inches down from the shoulder seam. On childrens 3.5 to 4.5 inches.

If at first you don't succeed, read the manual.
