So after going to the P&P show at the NEC I came back and finally got on with sublimating and getting orders in. I had to learn the hard way on a few things especially how much really bad sub paper is out there. I recently changed to a larger printer for the t-shirts but last night i was looking at some large format printers... luckily the wife was very understanding and agreed with what i was looking and talking about.

So the first week i did some sample mugs i got an order in for 50 17oz latte mugs, then half a dozen give aways for a local deli. I then did a few t-shirt designs and showed them around and everything went crazy!!

I trained as a graphic designer and conceptual artist so it was great to get stuck back into something artistic again. I did a few more tshirts and now its going really well, i need to get an new profile done for the new printer i just got in and also for the large format i am going to look at next week.

Mugs i am getting excellent quality with and the trupix paper is amazing, here is one i did for a local florist:

The t-shirts are really good and going down well, here is one i did using a modified stock design. The shoulder image is heavily edited and modified.

I am really enjoying this now and am looking for more apparel to print to, now all i need is a large flat bed press that will do a whole tshirt side in one go that with the large format printer will be the icing on the cake!.

Just thought i would share with you guys.

thanks

Very nice.....excellent artwork. Just wondering though is it my monitor or is the 'Design' and 'Aleksandra' lettering a little fuzzy looking?

the 'Aleksandra design' has got an outer glow filter i applied in photoshop this gives it that fuzzy look and also it was taken with a crappy camera.

So this evening i decided to work on the packaging for the t-shirts as i have got a few hundred big blister cases stored away, I also have a mobile phone repair business so i get in loads of blister packs for various spares etc so i like to keep blister packs in stock.

I have got quite a few large blister packs i didnt know what to do with... now i do!

So I decided to spend a few hours in illustrator and photoshop working on some packaging inserts rather than design cardboard boxes for them. By using the insert method i save money and use what i already have.

Here are some pictures of the finished article in the blister pack. I have to do the side uprights for the inner tomorrow but its almost there, at least now i can use the branding i registered for them on the packaging.
I am also going to have a look for some larger ones to fit my baseball caps in as I have nothing that will fit them at the moment, so its a look on the net tomorrow to see what i can find.

I was looking over an hp designjet 500 the other day thats just been overhauled with a new head etc for £450-500 and cityink have got a ciss system i can use for it. Not sure yet as i still have to find a large table press as well, if i can find one second hand in good condition then i will get one. It means full front prints onto tshirts etc then.

I have some really good designs for full front tshirt and hoodie prints that i want to use and i would need a large printer and press for this. So I am still looking and keeping my options open, I have to go look at a vinyl cutter this week as well that a friend is selling to add to the set up.

ssp......along with your awesome artwork and in packaging like that you're onto a sure fire winner IMO. It looks like a premium product and should be a great earner for you.

Looks very good - sometimes its the packaging that sells the item.
