Compatible toners for OKI C5750

Hi has anyone tried compatible toners for C5750 I'm OK with office prints etc using them but just wondered if they were any good with t shirt papers?
Also if you have tried them anyone recommend a good company? or what to look out for?

With TheMagicTouch papers the following happens with compatable toners:-
The Light garment paper (TTC) and hard surface paper (CPM) give a grey background with compatable toners.
The Dark garment paper (OBM) usually wraps itself round the fuser when compatables are in use.

We think this is because the compatable toner uses the wrong wax (toner is a mix of plastic, wax and pigment), I suspect its the same mix as used in the 5200 series of OKI printers which always gave a background, the 5600 and later printers use a different toner.

Curing a printer with compatables in it means replacing all the image drums and toners at one go, not cheap.

Using compatable toners could save you about 25% - but will invalidate your warrenty, and you will not be able to get any tec support when you get error codes. I looked into it and decided that even if the quality was perfect, it wasn't worth it!

We can supply original black for £95, compatables for £36.50. Colours orig £73, compat £35.90 each. Large savings. As for warranty, keep original carts and replace if reqd for warranty work.

I own a C5750 and have used compatible toners to replace the originals and haven't had too much of an issue. It took me a little while to sort out the ICC even though it worked when I hd the originals installed. They seem to print slightly darker now so I run it through a couple of times to get the heat up and it seems to sort itself out.

thanks for getting back to me, i have the toners here and have been reluctant to put them in.
I managed to bugger up my oki with a tshirt dark material it wrapped around the fuser.........................

Ouch! Did something similar once before with Magictouch TTC paper but managed to cowboy a fix but it took a lot of effort lol. Hope yours isnt too serious.

you do occasionally get a bit of media wrapoped round the fuser, but you can always tease if off with a knife, tweasers, and pick, but be careful not to damage the roller surface.
The media will have directional arrows on it, make sure it is fed the correct way, - we only have issues occasionally when we ignor this rule......
