Re: cheaper square coasters cork backed

Post by Kyebie »

Hi can anyone help.
I have been purchasing unisub 90 x 90mm coasters and backing separately, but the cost added together is higher than i wanted.
I once saw a UK supplier with sublimation coaster with cork backing around 40p complete. Does anyone know the cheapest suppliers for these.
I have searched internet but cant find ones cheaper, their must be a supplier.
Thank you

The transfer press do Budget cork backed ones @ 44p, but they are not hard like the unisub ones they are thin 2mm and are bendy, sort of like beer mats.

Coralgraph had some cork backed coasters a while ago. They were 4-5mm thick. I bough a box but didn't sell any as I didn't like the quality. Might be possible to avoid with practice and fine tuning times and temps but I kept finding the glossy vinyl came away from the cork backing. Seems the glue melts at a lower temperature than the sublimation occurs. It does stick back down (kind of) but is a real pain. I get the same with the pre - applied baize so now get the baize separately and stick this on after printing.
