red polyester

Ive been given a red 100% polyester top by mistake from a company. I needed to print vinyl onto it but as its just text on breast and back can I sublimate it ? Ive subbed white tshirts before but not red. Will the colours come out ok if I sub say yellow text.

You can't dye something to a lighter colour, so putting yellow dye (sublimation) ink onto a red shirt will not show up very well, but technically as a polyester it will sublimate.

So navy or black text will be ok.

They'd be more visible, but still influenced by the red underneath

think of it like this if you had a red peice of paper and used a yellow pen on it would it show jp as yellow ?

the only colour you can count on is not a colour: black!
