if i upgraded to a new template would i loose all my website or does it just convert over to the new one.? im not good with opencart so will have to get someone to do it for me anyway but just inquiring.

It should convert over the existing template as it runs alongside and you can switch between the two. I say 'should' as I've had a few slight issues with my OC site over the last few days, not related to a new template but enough to make sure I have a full back up before doing anything!

the only problem you may have with changing a template is some extensions you may have bought will need altering to work with your new template and some extensions are only coded to work with opencart default theme.

Good point and something that I should have mentioned. I think this is what happened with mine so I started again with latest version and only installed mods designed to work with that same version.

most of the time it can be fixed by going through your extension files and changing the theme name from default to your installed theme (even easier if you've got VQmod)
