Re: What is coming next?

Dear oh dear!... (I refrained from using bad words!) What can seriously happen next!....
Well, today, after weeks of to-ing-and-fro-ing from the hospital, I finally get a call from Spire Hospital in Pentwyn to say I can finally start my long awaited treatment (second lot of treatment due to the first not working). I was suppossed to start at 07:30am tomorrow morning (appointments are hard to come by and only fit in with the surgery you are to receive after it, thats why the short notice.). I am to receive HyperBaric Oxygen Therapy again due to the Radio and Chemotherapy I had two years ago. Anyway, all is agreed to see them and go there in the morning. Great!... Cant wait.
3 hours later, I get a call to say the surgeon has recommended 30 treatments (daily for two hours) pre-surgery and then 20-25 post surgery treatments. It was originally suppossed to be 10!. Due to the time length it has taken to organize these appointments, my jaw has gradually become worse and deteriorated to the extent that I have to have a part removed (Osteonecrosis). Wonderful!... Stops me gassing all the time! hahaha.... so, to top the day off, my wife (bless her ignorance of the law) arrives home to say the car has been nicked! OMG, I scream! After quite a few frantic calls to Barry Police and the DVLA, it is discovered that the car was towed due to not having tax since November 2012!!!!!!!! What?... We used to do the tax online, only 6 months at a go. We moved to this house 7 months ago. She never changed the V5C (log-book) to this new address. OK, I thought, not too bad.... then I realised I have my appointments tomorrow. Rang the DVLA, no go.... rang the police... no go... where is the car?... no-one knows... the tow company only opens from 9am - 5pm. GREAT! Wonderful, splendid, super!... now gonna get pushed back another month at the hospital! So, a little bit of advice.... make sure you all change your log-books and drivers licenses when moving to a new address.... it doesn't just cause a load of hassle, it costs you money and in my case, possibly my health again. Right... wheres the John Smiths?
p.s..... I so wanted to shout at her, but she was almost in tears anyway.... bless her!... hahaha.

Hi Arko

Sorry to hear of your problems.

Have you thought about quickly grabbing a hire car from Cardiff Airport. I had to hire one from there sometime ago and remember that I picked it up at about 9.00pm at night. I think Cardiff is not that far from you so a short taxi ride and a few quid later and you have a motor for tomorrow.

At least then you can start your treatment.

Thanks fellas!... We are now ringing all our friends and family to get this sorted. Shouldnt be a problem... just make s you open your eyes a bit wider though. Something so simple as an adress change can cause so much havoc. As for the transport, I still have the option of using hospital transport, which Im against for a couple of reasons in my case alone.... 1. it uses too much NHS fund resources when I am fit enough to make my own way there, 2. You know when they are picking you up but you never know what time you will be taken back home (I was once waiting 4 hours at Velindre), so... if I have to.... I will walk! .. naaaa just kidding, my legs are not that sprightly anymore! Other options are public transport but that means a 5 hour round trip. I will sort it... I have a few mates that still owe me a fasvour or two and they have vehicles that are doing nothing most of the time
