glass printing

I came across a website that says they do glass printing, is this even possibly, the only way I can think it would be done is with decal, but that would not stay on after a few washes. Any ideas how this is done, sorry I'm talking about drinking glasses.

Depends on many things.

You can either screen print or water decal on to cylindrical glass.

With water decals, unless you have the high end proper decals and can oven cure the item it will wash off.

what sort of oven would you use and where to get it

Not sure to be honest.

Most of them use kiln's so presumably any kiln which probably means any oven as well.

The key factor is the decal paper and that is what I can not find

Thanks for your help but having read on line I don't think this can be done so that it will survive many washes. Most people buy glasses to drink out and I would not want to disappoint them with quality and have them back because the decal has come of.

Hi Jennywren.
There are glasses which are frosted and can be sublimated. They were on the Conde site sometime ago.

The dishwasher safe glasses are fired at about 620c in a kiln / oven.

Do you have a link on on the safe glasses on how the are fired I spent hours on the web looking but sometimes its how we word our searches

I believe it is standard glassware Jenny. You just need to get the transfer method correct. Waterslide decals or screen printed transfers etc.
