Re: Have you tried to sublimate..
Does anyone have any experience sublimating the umbrellas offered by BMS or the pens? Could you tell me what you thought of your results?
Thanks
Thanks

PurpleDragon does quite a few umbrellas so hopefully he'll pop along soon. Unfortunately we don't supply to USA or Canada though.icanattitude;64495 wrote:Does anyone have any experience sublimating the umbrellas offered by BMS or the pens? Could you tell me what you thought of your results?

Not yet! Looks like a great promotional item - if I can find them in the States. I have customers ask me about pens all the time so I was very interested when I saw them on the BMS website - but, alas they don't sell to the States. I've not yet seen them on my normal vendor websites..... Maybe I should start making some suggestions to them! Also loved the little plush animal key chains. All we have over here are the bears.

I don't think so. We have lots of the same stuff but we don't have the bone china cups, the pens, the umbrellas. Even with the shipping costs, I'd love to order some of the cups I saw on BMS and Listawood. I guess I'll just have to go to a toy store and find something besides a plush bear and hope the tshirt for him fits! You know how it is, customers always want what you don't have!

Have you tried an umbrella from a non-sublimation vendor? I saw on a TShirt forum that as long as it's 100% polyester it'll work - if you can get it to lay flat...
Re: Have you tried to sublimate..
Sure will, anything 100% polyester will print perfectly with Sublimation.icanattitude;64601 wrote:Have you tried an umbrella from a non-sublimation vendor? I saw on a TShirt forum that as long as it's 100% polyester it'll work - if you can get it to lay flat...

Re: Have you tried to sublimate..
The key thing with umbrellas is getting your jig or set up right. As purpledragon says it takes a bit to get the knack. If you are really good with wood and stuff try and make something that will sit on the floor and support your open umbrella flat on the heat press.
One thing I also found was purchasing a proper umbrella base platen meant I could sublimate a larger area.
Once you have the knack etc they are a superb item, the great thing is that if you find a supply of polyester blanks then you are not limited to white umbrellas, I sold loads of coloured ones with a black print.

Re: Have you tried to sublimate..
Ok i thought this myself and to be honest i havnt been proved wrong yet but as a word of caution anyway, I am told that some umbrellas have a water proof coating this can be affected by the high tempriture of the heat press the coating is a water proofing coating so it is possible to render the brolly usless im sure most of us remember the old days of canvas tents great at keeping water out until something touches the material then it pours through . This potentially could happen with brollies or so im told. Its easy enough to prove though just buy a sample from where ever you are thingking of buying from if it works great if not then dont buy any moreicanattitude;64601 wrote:Have you tried an umbrella from a non-sublimation vendor?
