Help Needed Setting up

Hi everyone,

Just a little intro i started dye sublimation to create some merchandise for the company i am at now about a month or so ago.
I have also done a little bit for friends and family etc. in my spare time.
Now i a few more people know i can do it, and im looking to be become a sole trader so it is all legit.

My questions is really how is the best way to go about this, i currently have a job but it is quite low income.

Can i be both employed(PAYE) and sole trader ? and will i get taxed silly amounts for having both also would the other job im at now need to do anything.
I have looked over the Gov site about being a sole trader but i cant see any information on being one while having another job?

Any advice on how to go about this the best way or how you went about it would be great.

call up your local tax office and nip in for a chat, they are helpful, also contact the local small business advisory service, there should be one in your area.

Ill second what mrs maggot said, i was very suprised when i first started out at how helpful the tax office was, they also run a free basic business accounting lessons, well worth a chat. They dont bite.
