I specifically asked for sublimation inks, not as you presume here, sir.

Yes you probably did but did you not realise they was too cheap? would normaly cost you £200-£300 for a set of 4 100ml sublimation ink

But, if we assume they are decanting bulk sublimation inks, which retails for around £100 per litre, then the price paid is about right, when this is the case the price tends to be around £10-£20 per 100ml.

I ordered sublimation inks for the brother 5910DW and that's what's written on the invoice.
I think the name of the printer could be what has caused the confusion here. I would think most sublimation ink suppliers would be thinking you would be using an Epson or a Ricoh as these are the only supported printers.

Going back in time in the forum a few of us older more experienced members discussed at some length about using unsupported printers such as the Brother's. One of those members decided to go down this route with some success but, then we had a few new members who then decided to do the same. This in my opinion has led to people new to sublimation thinking they should go down the same route to save money.

I do use an unsupported printer but, I only did this after gaining a lot of experience & knowledge from using supported printers & ink for a number of years.

It really can be such a false economy to go down the unsupported route until you have gained that experience & knowledge first.

Just to keep you up to speed, although you're all probably fed up with this now, the guy I've been in contact with has asked me to send him a printed image so that he can try it. Only time will tell what the problem is.

Of course we're not fed up, we want to see this rectified :-) I do think you're wasting your time sending him an image though, as has been pointed out above, these can't possibly be sublimation inks or you'd have got some kind of transfer.

Most likely they have messed up and sent you the wrong (not sublimation) ink. The thing is now how are they going to rectify the situation - this will be a good test of their customer service/support. First to admit their mistake, and then what they will offer to help you, as you now have a printer filled with the wrong types of ink, that ideally needs flushing out and cleaning properly before putting in the sublimation inks they should have sent out in the first place. This is going to take time, and can be a bit of a messy hassel, and really it shouldn't any more of your time spent sorting out the mess. Tricky on for the seller though - do they get your printer collected and swap things over for you, and send you back your printer, and send you a new printer?

Did you ever use the printer before you started using the sub inks?

No. It was bought specifically for sublimation.
