Also, Paul I am probably going to get absolutely slated for my next comment....

I think £30.00 is too cheap

If it is going to do what I think it can do then I would charge more

that all depends on the quality of the app my friend..

still say he should make up a bare bones app(cheap) so we can all try it/see it with severe limitations , then offer "add ons" for this app at additional cost per add on.....

say give it with a one plate add on or similar to try....instead of one of the "premium" mug or Tshirt templates, or what ever else he's gonna be adding in there.

to make it available to every one or make it more premium so it wont end up on EVERY website that sell mugs :)

I dont really mind... i am even not sure if someone will want it lol

its not going to be huge thing. onl simple add that help customers a little :)

I would say you should charge for it on an ongoing bases, with maybe different pricing options for whether people pay monthly or annually - and £30 a year it too cheap definitely!
Before reading you didn't want a name just for mugs, I was thinking of Mugify

thank you pisquee! good name! but i already got something on my mind ;)

I appreciate all your comments regarding price. still thinking about this...
I think i may put fair price on it but not expensive, with some discount for premium members.

Hi Paul

Finding a lot of comments, all are good, its going to be difficult for you.

May I suggest you look at http://www.my-software.co.uk/ (hope its ok to put the link in here!) they do a lot of small stand alone programs based on giftware of various types, even offering support. But the main thing with their system is that you purchase the software for a year, and then you pay an amount each year to receive updates and the ability to carry on using it. This type of system would give you an income. May even be a serious consideration to speak to them to see if they were interested in offering it with you gaining a share for each sale.

If they were interested they may be able to help put it in a similar working environment to the software they already supply.

Its up to you, just thought i would put my thoughts in to the mix.

Good look

Regards

Phil

You should read "The $100 Startup" by Chris Guillebeau (Amazon Link) and then decide if you want to charge a regular fee to users, or one off.

Paul if you have come up with something that has taken hours of work then you should and must pass this on as a business, not as a freebie/highly reduced rate, look at the posts others have put up and take this business idea forward, maybe speaking to the company that philfoot has said above, after all this could gain you a good income, and lead to more work.
