Ebay excel themselves yet again...

So we get an American buy one of our products on ebay. She then decides she wants two. So we send her a paypal request for the extra amount. She gets it in pounds she doesnt understand the difference between pounds and dollars and then gets crabby. So crabby that she doesnt pay for the original item. She only pays the extra amount. (with me still) Then we ask her for the original payment and she says shes paid (she hasnt) In the end we give up and return her paypal payment and close the sale. We get a refund and matter closed. Last night she gives us a Negative saying we didnt communicate or send the item or refund her. I raise this with ebay and they find on her side. Can you believe it?

If I could survive without ebay I would be gone tomorrow.

Sounds about right for ebay .......i thought it was policy now that if a sale is cancelled then feedback can not be left think ive got somthing mixed up somewhere. I just cant understand ebay a few months ago i had a spate of silly bits like this and ebay were fantastic i rang them and had negs removed there n then and now they seem to have gone backwards to being down right awkward , i mean how can you argue with someone when you say "ive had negs removed over the phone before" and the guy on the other end of the phone says "sorry sir we cant remove negs over the phone" then you find yourself jumping up n down screaming "BUT YOU HAVE DONE THIS FOR ME ON AT LEAST 3 OCCASIONS" the answer ? "sorry sir feed back is a reflection of the experiance the buyer has had " "so how do sellers give a reflection of how their experiance has been" that one tends to default to "sorry sir we cannot remove neg feedbacks on the phone" a cracked record comes to mind. Ive often wondered if you could set up a site completey seperate to ebay where sellers can leave feedback on bad customers im sure iot wouldnt be legal but its a thought innit.

gstk i feel your pain and yes if i could survive without it id be asking you to hold the door for me so i could leave with you

Isnt there something in the news recently about people slandering other people on the internet . Lord McAlpine seems to ring a bell. And isnt the law doing something about this?
Leaving negative reports on Ebay that can be proven as false, is close to slander, or am I wrong?

I had neg feedback for one of my profiles. Not hat it was no good. Seller said - "said there is free postage"
and it bloody was. I dont ask for postage payment as i sen them via email or ebay msg system.
contacted ebay and guess how much did they done for me???

Ebay have thought of this ... leaving negative feedback isnt slanderous in itself as its just an opinion ie "quality of item was not as i expected" is perfectly ok as its an opinion if the customer said "seller is incredibly rude and do not help their customers2 well this is a statement and you can have this comment removed under the defamation claus this can be found on the ebay site. Personally its not the comments that bother me everyone is entitlled to their opinion what does bother me is theres very little right to reply and even if the comment is removed the neg remains this impacts directly on your top rated seller status which inturn impacts directly on where you rank in the ebay searchs no top rated seller status means your items are way down the list ina search which means less sales so for the sake of 2 awkward customers your whole business can be put in jeapody this may sound alarmist but it is a fact

That paul is incredible how they could uphold that is beyond me i would say thats pretty blatant abuse of the feedback system and should definatly be removed in a reasonable world unfortunatly ebay doesnt live in that world

I just put a reply to the feedback along the lines of "Please look at our other feedbacks - make your own minds up whos incorrect" with over 7000 excellent feedbacks hopefully people will judge accordingly

Paul, I thought you could not sell via email as it counts as an intangible product. That's why they got rid of all the ebooks.

If you ring Ebay keep trying until you get an Irish accent, they are much more helpful than the other call centres.

i didn't send any attachments. only link to the server. any way. they didn't find it as as braking rules. they just said they can not do anything about feedback :/
