Frequent cleaning required (Brother)
Re: Frequent cleaning required (Brother)
Just wondering if anybody else has experienced very regular printing problems with their brother printer. I find that I could print 1 or 2 pages and then all of a sudden I get a page where only the yellow printed out. If I do a test print, yellow is perfect, black is patchy and I get nothing for the other two colours. If I clean then it is perfect again for another 1 or 2 pages and then it happens again and I have to test and clean again.

Whose/Which ink are you using?
Whose/Which refill carts are you using?

Is there anything special I should be doing with the cartridges. I have the little valves/filters in and all 4 cartridges are setup the same to me yet the yellow always works but not the others. Do you think I should buy new cartridges?
Also what seems strange to me is that there is not a gradual deterioration. It is working fine and then all of a sudden it prints a completely yellow page and when I print the printing quality test nothing appears apart from yellow which is perfect.

Re: Frequent cleaning required (Brother)
I have found that the refillable cartridges in Brother printers tend to cause a vacuum that just stops the ink flowing. I might suggest that you just remove the filling bungs or filters and try to print a couple of test sheets to see if that clears your problem up. I always remove my bungs before printing then put them back in afterwards and my printing problems are few and far between.

Do you use the little plastic valve things that came with them?WorthDoingRight;59443 wrote:I have found that the refillable cartridges in Brother printers tend to cause a vacuum that just stops the ink flowing. When you remove your bungs, do you remove them completely or from the small or large holes?
