Re: Any plate pressers out there?

Post by AdamB »

I had an enquiry the other day regarding some presentation plates.

I made a proof plate (metal sublimation type) that the customer was very pleased with and I am giving him some prices for about a 100 on Monday (various designs).

Just out of interest, does anyone still press the ceramic plates and if so can you PM me with a quote please for 1, 10, 25, 50 & 100.

Any designs will be sorted at my end, just the printing, pressing and dispatch at your end (I will create designs to fit the dimensions available).

Not sure if the ceramic side will work but it may if they decide on the more traditional route.

Many thanks in advance :)

i pressed quite few ceramic plates and i must admit i failed :(
The look fantastic when done correctly but to have consistent finish on 100 i would waste another 10 or 20 :)

Yeah, we bought a plate press, and some plates, and quickly gave up trying with them, not worth the effort of a product that can't be used as a plate.

That's what I thought to be honest, after reading so much about the problems in pressing and breakages it was never something that really interested me :(

I think the vacuum machines could offer an alternative in the not too distant future (http://www.bestsublimation.cn/whats-new ... stsub.html). The link shows plates fully printed with the large 3D vacuum machine. There is a desktop version of the 3D vacuum machine coming which is much more practical for many users and should be at a price that's much more affordable.

You know of an estimated price Martin for the machines (and desktop one)?

They do look nice but the 3d printing thing was used in some degree with the advanced DTG machines (golf balls etc) - I must admit, if it's an affordable price it would be something that may interest me :)

I have an idea and I have a machine coming for testing. Once our machine has arrived and has been tested then we'll publish prices.
