vinyl cutter doesnt work?!?

hi guys needing a wee bit of help if yous can help, i got a vinyl cutter about 6 months ago , its a cutting plotter MT871 i got artcut software and deco studio/corel graph ive had no joy in trying to install it , i got the driver with it but still nothing , i dont know if its the wrong driver or how to install it properly , help would be much appreciated guys

Is your driver for the correct version of windows? 32 or 64 bit? I have just changed from XP to Win 7 and had to download new drivers for my Roland. I was also advised to plug the USB directly into the computer and not via a USB hub. It now works via my Embroidery Studio/Corel Draw .

thanks earl but havent got a clue where to get the drivers from ive tried all over the net but to no avail, have u got a link or site i could get it from?

If the MT721 is just a rebadged version of the Refine MH721 then the MH721 drivers are in the support section of the USCutters website here http://support.uscutter.com/index.php?/ ... /mh-series.

is it usb connected ??
is there anything happening when you connecting it to your pc??? any sound that windows actually know there is anything connected??? if so is it fiddling the driver at all?

make sure the baud(sp) settings are right normally 9800 but as WDR says us cutter forum support is the way to go

I tend to give up on expecting the usb on most cheap chinese cutters to work properly and buy myself either a 9 pin serial port add in card or if the header is on the motherboard a 9 pin serial port backplate and use a serial cable. As Laura rightly said making sure the serial port settings match in both the com port section of device manager and your software application is important.
