what is it? flock?
if so what time and temp you used?? if you want some help ou need to give bit more info so folks know what o rule out.

yes its flock, im using temp 170 for 10 seconds? Its fine in the middle its just all the way round the outside, even when i have trimmed the edges where u can see lots of 'fluff'?thanks for any help anyone can offer

I find I get more residue if I peel it off while it's too hot.

Try different/less pressure......also you can attempt to remove residue with transfer removal spray.

Your temp settings are fine, just need to make sure you are using medium pressure.

If all else fails and as a workaround you could always insert a sheet of a4 paper up to the edge of the required flock. This means the residue will adhere to the paper and not the garment.... hopefully!
USING: Whatever it takes to get the job done...

Just a guess but have you tried trimming the edges again after weeding?

I had this once and found that a small bit of residue was left after I had cut out logos to be pressed. I trimmed them closer after I had weeded them and it solved the problem.

Just re-read your post - and noticed you said you trim then again after weeding .................... ummm, puzzling ?
