I di one a couple of years back but not on that scale, I think it was 12 tiles or somthing like that. Will it be in direct sunlight? You'll probably find some tiles are intended for UV exposure but you can treat them afterwards with spray I would think. End result is incredible btw.

Don't forget it'll need to be cleaned down.....

And if you can cheat by using hardwood tiles rather than ceramic all the better....and much better profit ;-)

Repeat business ! LOL, I agree. Speak to suppliers and ask about lightfastness/UV stability, see if they've done any tests. I would think it unlikely to fade if it's not in direct sunlight. I have samples in a shop that still look fine after a year.

Hi Paul, just wondered if you did do the mural in the end as ive been asked if i can do a 3mtr x 12" one to go behind a big aga and side boards, i was thinking of asking if they would like 8x10 tiles instead of 6x6 ones as i think it would look better but would i get the single tile image on a4 paper with the bleed? and also do you think it would hold up on the wall colour wise being behind the cooker?

If you forgot they were ceramic tiles and considered they were infact ceramic mugs you would probably already know the answer.

A tile on a wall is never likely to get anywhere near the wear and tear of a constantly handled and dishwashed mug.

Whether you can sublimate an 8x10 tile will depend on what margin your printer needs when printing an A4 sheet or A3 prints.

didnt even come to mind thinking about it like that but now mentioned i know the answer lol thanks...

I think im going to print a couple of images of on normal printer to see what the limit is for a4, if it wont work then i will have to settle for a smaller tile but the design in my opinion would look better on larger ones or i could ask the person i used to do bits for if i could have the epson 1400 as its not doing nothing no more
