Epson to Ricoh

I'm looking at moving over to the A3 Ricoh for a number of reasons and would very much like to see the print quality before making a big investment. I have my concerns over the print quality, maybe I could get a couple of A4 sheets printed on a Ricoh to compare against my current set-ups.

If you want to send the image to us Justin I'll see if we can pop it in the same box that's leaving us. This will be printed on the SG3110 using PowerDriver.

Hi Justin i have always had the epsons and recently due to a few problems found myself forking out for the ricoh 7700n heres a quick review/comaprison

set up was a bit of a nightmare i have vista 64bit so it did complicatye things slightly but sawgrass tech guys got me sorted easily enough.
ease of use: its ok i suppose you load paper in it takes it out job done really i did have to buy the add on paper tray so i can use A3+ paper at a whopping £170 odd quid well over the top in mu opinion but hey whatcha gonna do if you need to print a3+ (and i do) they have you by the short n curlies so the cost did rocket from £900 ish quid to over a grand
print quality: ok hate to admit it but it isnt too bad once set up the power driver does tend to sort everything out for you .
Maintanence to be honest too early to tell though if you're told you never need do head cleans dont believe it ive had to do one so far not too bad i suppose but ink is expensive i do like the fact that when doing a head clean i could choose just to clean one half of the set .

epson 1400 6 ink think you have one of these dont you so im preaching to the converted really but for those reading. Please note i use a 1400 as an example as i think the b1100 4 ink is crap
Ok love this machine admitadly im on my second but it does have a hard life bless it .
set up is easy enough put in carts connected to ciss install software and run a nozzel check chances are you will need to do a couple of head cleans to fill the tubes with ink but hopefully this should go without issue
Print quality is excellent and i still believe far better than the ricoh but i have to point out again the ricoh is very good i just think the epson is better.
Head cleans and poor nozzel checks are what plagues epson users and if its gonna go wrong it always seems to be the cyan thats the problem. Air leaks do seem to appear in a second on ciss systems god knows why when running well these are great and far supieriour to the ricoh in terms of print quality the problem is they never run well for long 2 years is probably the best you can hope for before replacing . I know have the riocoh 7700n an epson 1400 and the new epson 1500 which is sat in its box unopened as thats now my back up as for the B1100 its dead and good riddance !

just moved over to a ricoh gxe3300 - quiet, lovely results, will keep epson back on durabrite inks for other printing, but my days of epson for other printing are gone

we've just upgraded to a Ricoh 3110DN and get stunning results. We used BMS and received the usual 5 star service from Martin and you get the 'Cash back offer' which is always nice.

Well I think you mean new Ricoh A3 printer, as I am sure the Ricoh Gx7000 is still a supported A3 printer even if discontinued.

Any Ricoh printer is good to use...It depends on your cost and your requirement though

Not all Ricoh printers are suitable for sublimation.Sorry Martin, I totally missed your post somehow, will send a couple of A4's over next time I order, many thanks.
