Before you buy, make sure it is compatible with TMT papers or if you're going to take a gamble with the Dell machine check the cost of a new fuser unit as that will be the component that will need replacing if TMT papers aren't compatible. TMT papers will stick like brown stuff to a blanket in the fuser unit which will then have to be replacedsays there will be no jams

Re: 100% Cotton
Sawgrass last week announced support for the Ricoh GXe3300 using Chromablast inks which should bring the startup costs down especially given the GXe3300 is a reasonably cheap printer to buy.
Re: 100% Cotton
Martin,
As soon as you have some details, could you send me some.
I assume you will be stocking the inks and paper?
Thanks
David

Re: 100% Cotton
Solvent transfers would be a good way to go works out at about £1 per A4, reverse printed on clear looks good on the natural bags.

The Ricoh GX7000 is also supported but for the moment the GXe3300 is online

How much will the start up package be? I can't see it on that link, unless I'm missing something

Re: 100% Cotton
How does chromablast feel on a tshirt?
I mean, is it like sublimated tees, or transfer tees?
Just trying to work things out in my head here
Thanks
Oh, and I take it I can't change my GX7000 from subli to chroma?

Re: 100% Cotton
It's not the same as sublimation, there is a feel to the t-shirt where the print is applied. You're recommended to close cut the image as you would get a feel of the transparent area on the paper if applied as a rectangular blob. The finish is vibrant and looks good but it is stuck to the fibres of the t-shirt (not as bad as a stuck on transfer).
I wouldn't recommend swapping inks - you'd waste a huge amount each time you purged the system and there would always be contamination of the inks in the tubes. Use the GX7000 for sublimation and if you want to go into ChromaBlast then get a different printer specifically for that job.
