Don't always be swayed by price, support and reputation are equally important.

This is the bit where people need to do their research in my opinion. When I first started in this business there wasn't a forum such as this & we had to look around & find the various suppliers using Google. In fact I think anyone who watches The Apprentice will hear Lord Sugar say many times 'you need to do your research first'.

I agree, however, there are many suppliers out there who offer support and are reputable, including the 2 who are more expensive in this instance. I have purchased from both of them and will do so in the future. I have also had dealings with the cheaper one and have found them both supportful and reputable. As I said, it pays to shop around, where one supplier may be more expensve on some items they can also be cheaper on others.

I understand what you're saying, it was the same for me when I started many years ago, however now that there is a forum it would make things a lot easier and save valuable time in searching.

at the end of the day guys - its your hard earned cash - spend it where and how you please.....but take a week or so and plough through all the different suppliers of the sub trade - google search.
then when you get your short list of suppliers you think you like, google again - "yourcompany reviews" - replacing "yourcompany" with the sub supplier you want to find out about.
If they have a bad rep, it will soon show - as you will find out about one famous(infamous) sub supplier, NOT on here a may add...not a hope in hell, i may also add lol....but i lot of people have been badly stung with this particular supplier in the past and NOW !....cause they DONT research first and just jump in with both feet cause they are/were cheaper

just sayin...

I'm not going to mention any names, but there's not much love around for this particular company if you search on Google. You could cut and paste some of this thread to find them out :)

I don't care who is 'recognised' by DSF, - but I do care who is in this business for the long term, and who genuinely supports their products and their customers.
I started with a s22 on CISS and thought it was great, but gradually had more and more issues.
Upgraded to a Ricoh and loved it, had same for over 2 years, utterly brilliant, the 'power driver' resolves all your colour issues, never jams clogs or anything, can switch on after 2 week Xmas/NY close and first print is a seller.
Bought both from The Magic Touch.
