Ricoh GX e5550N White Speckle dot problem - Please help?

Hello Friends,

New to the forum ,

my question is regarding the "Ricoh GX e5550N"

I have purchased this printer as NEW installed my carts, done all the relevant settings in "printer settings, photoshop" but every time i made a print i got horizontal white lines, so i ran the nozel check, did some head cleaning and setup the head alignment

now lines have vanished but i am left with White speckle spots on my prints, i have ran further head cleans and tests but problem is ongoing? any advise

The spots are like water splashes on a fresh print

Please could some one help me cure this annoying problem

What ink yo have in your ricoh?

So thats your answer here then. They are not GEL inks are they?

Nope, i was told these should work fine as it supports Gel and dye sub ink?

Yes. It will work with sublimation ink but gel one. I belive is much thickerthen normal sublimation ink. Also i know that som people had a go at it and said that ricoh dont give good results with standard ink. You can try to pint on lower print quality and see whats going to hapen.

Thank's Paul, Your right results are not perfect. I have tried a number of options but nothing. Do you no a place that actually sells Gel Sublimation ink for this printer? I can only seem to find it for the old model e5050n

Are you using the powerdriver?

Sawgrass do not offer powerdirver for this model, Only the e5050n

This printer is not supported. The reason being that Sawgrass found it to be notorious for banding. If you've not got gel ink cartridges be aware that at some point you may find a lot of ink flooding your printer. I suspect you won't get much in the way of decent quality results with this printer, I'm afraid...
