You could definitely use a rain powered mug press on the centre circle of the Polish national football stadium. Could've printed thousands by the time they actually shut the roof yesterday!Paul;56454 wrote:Solar mug press in this country?? Good luck.

Re: Cost prices to produce covers
Is there confusion between fixed and variable costs here ......
How many covers do you imagine selling through this outlet?
5, 25, 100, 500?
Will they pay upfront for a large batch or do they want them one at a time as they are ordered?
If you are doing singles I might want £5 to £10 markup on each, if by the 100, maybe £2 each, by the 1000, maybe £1.50 each.
The electricity cost is negligable, look at blanks, ink, and your expertise, and don't undersell yourself!
Look at a returns policy, who looses if they don't sell, or volumes are below expectation?

Also don't forget to cost in your labour costs. ie. if you earn £15 per hour (25p per minute) you should add this to your costings (salary for you / profit for the business)

Re: Cost prices to produce covers
Well, I was surfing the net yesterday and came across an advert offering personalised printed iphone covers at the fabulous price of £24.99 each. I would be happy to be selling a few of these bargains a day!

Re: Cost prices to produce covers
Simon, I have quoted the same 'trade' customer for sublimated iphone cases at what I consider to be bargain price for a few at a time and everytime they have either not bought or gone elsewhere.
What I do not understand is that they are often willing to pay as much for a printed mug off me as I want for an iphone case but will not buy the iphone case. This surprises me as a blank iphone case costs me more to buy in.

Re: Cost prices to produce covers
I think some people have skewed opinions on perceived value. Mugs are so easy to knock out, but the layman is impressed. For whatever reason I guess the iPhone cases have gripped certain people in the same way. A pity really, not just for the added expense but also the added hassle of making an image work on the printable insert.

I tried to duck but still sticking out like a sore thumb bigJ!!!!
I know what you are saying WDR. I recently spoke to a customer about them who purchase mugs from me in bulk. Gave them a price and they said no way ever. They told me that they get them for 60p per unit printed all round in China on minimum run of 500.

Well I suppose it does not help that they are small and light weight where as mugs are large and heavy and hence more expensive to ship from China.socialgiraffe;56474 wrote:I tried to duck but still sticking out like a sore thumb bigJ!!!!
