Background of my jigsaws came out mottled green instead of black, could this be lack of pressure, time or heat?

The simple answer is yes along with potentially a number of other reasons. In situations like this it is worth sacrificing a jigsaw 'piece by piece' until you get the results you want.Start with 190 - 200 degrees for 50-60 seconds with firm pressure and move from there.

could also be moisture related. Products this time of year can be damp so Pre-press the item for 30+ seconds and see if you get a wet patch around the jigsaw...

Right, have tried heating, change temp and time and pressure, I think the problem is getting the pressure evening over the whole jigsaw. Is there something I could use to put onto of the jigsaw which would help to spread weight more evenly?

You could use a silicon rubber sheet but then your temp and times will have to change to compensate for this layer.

Does your heat press not given an even spread then? Try upping the pressure a little bit more.

It only seems to happen in one section of the jigsaw, so will try more pressure tomorrow.
strange thing is tshirts and mouse mats all show uniform heating.

It sounds like you have a pressure issue or a dead spot on your heat press.

T-shirts and mouse mats will be fine as they are soft, absorb heat quicker, mold to the heat press platen and can take a higher pressure.

I would try moving the jigsaw to a different area of the press. If the green effect moves with the jigsaw then the problem is either on the paper or the jigsaw themselves. If however the green effect stays in the same place in relation to the heat press then there is a fault with the press.

Will check it out tomorrow. Will start by increasing the pressure. Thank you for all your suggestions

More pressure and slightly longer time and results are really good
