Whilst it may be possible to get ink into them, they are chipped so refilling is pointless unless there is an aftermarket chip resetter or chips readily available (there must chips available as Sawgrass will have to have access to chips to go onto their cartridges).

Oh, that's unfortunate. When I'm about to start a big print job, I like to just top up my cartridges and let the printer get on with it. That avoids the situation of a near-empty cartridge spoiling a print run when they run out.

Is there any reason why Sawgrass don't support refillable cartridges with ARCs? That's what they used to use in Easyflow CISS systems. Or is it just that they make more money by selling the pre-filled cartridges than they would if they just sold bottles and refillables? I guess that's probably more like it.

The Photo 1500 is now supported and as suspected the 1400 EasyFlow system is compatible with the 1500 printer...

Sawgrass Europe are excited to introduce the Epson® Stylus Photo 1500W for ArTainium UV+ and Rotech inks. The Epson Stylus Photo 1500W photo printer is the replacement to the very popular Epson Stylus Photo 1400 platform. For the first time ever, the ArTainium UV+ and Rotech Continuous Ink System will be compatible with both the Epson 1400 as well at the Epson 1500W solutions. With this in mind we anticipate a smooth transition for you and your customers.

The 6-color, high resolution ArTainium UV+ and Rotech solutions will provide exceptional Epson photo quality images for the most discerning sublimation customers.
The Epson 1500W ArTainium UV+ ands Rotech solutions are intended to be complementary to the Ricoh GX e7700N SubliJet-R solution – providing similar intermediate-class features and benefits for those who prefer an Epson-based solution.
  • Migration solution for legacy Epson 1400 ArTainium UV+ and Rotech customers – the Epson 1500W ArTainium UV+ and Rotech solutions utilize existing 1400-based CISS solution for familiar, easy to use migration from legacy, intermediate solutions
  • Epson Photo Image Quality – for those sublimation customers who desire the Epson 6-color gamut and photo resolution capability
The combination of low cost, wider print width and photo capability will allow the Epson 1500W ArTainium UV+ and Rotech solutions to meet the needs of both entry level and intermediate sublimation customers.
