Re: Epson Stylus s22

Post by Fordy »

First of all sorry if this has been posted elsewhere I did try to find another thread but I had no luck.

I just bought the epson stylus s22 (I've got sublimation ink and sublimation paper so no problems with that). I am having trouble when it comes to printing images. For example all I want is a logo which just contains black text, but it keeps on coming out blue. I have tried a few of the different settings such as printing as a photo and as text and I've tried changing the type of paper to plain, photo and glossy. I was wondering if anyone on here could offer me some advice if they have this printer to save me wasting any more paper/ink.

Also this has nothing to do with printers but I have just started printing mugs and most of my prints seem to fade at the bottom and I'm not sure why. I am using 22x9cm images which could be too big and the press isnt pressing them right? Any help would be much appreciated.

you may need a colour profile for your printer, as for the fade, try turning the mugs 1/2 way through.

What do you mean by colour profile? Is this something I would have to download or do I just edit some settings somewhere?

I took some pictures to help me explain the problem further. The first picture is the image i'm trying to print:

Then this is how it keeps coming out:

The settings are (from the left) Photo quality on plain paper - Photo quality on matte paper - Photo quality on photo paper. I also tried the setting Text and image on matte paper but it turned out like the others.

I seem to have gone from printing blue writing when I wanted black to not printing blue at all. The Cyan ink in my CISS seems to be at a higher level than the others as well. (I have not changed any settings from earlier). Any help would be much appreciated again.

Type icc profile in forum search. This is small file that let you printer choice rioght colours. By looking at yourpicture on th pape you wont see.much. You need to press them to your blank to see the real colours.

Go for photooption. Matte paper and then print. Switch icm off in epon driver befor you print.

I pressed one of those images onto a mug but it still isn't right (although the photo option with matte paper seems to be producing the best quality image). Also I went onto the printer settings and turned ICM off as you said.

I was reading about ICC profiles and found that I will more than likely need a custom one. I also searched ICC profile on this forum and it seems that paul just happens to be the man to see when it came to these

Edit: Also I noticed an option for the photo to be enhanced while printing. I tried printing both with and without this option ticked and it seems to be better with it. Just wondering what your thoughts were on this as well, cheers.

This printer has been so much MORE trouble than it is worth.
It eats ink like dinosaurs would eat people.
It chews up and spits out paper.

You'd be better off down the supported route, get yourself set up quickly and start making money rather than spend weeks like this wasting time and ink etc.

First, no way i am great fan of this printer but what you saing is that this printer ink consumption is biger then othe printers to make this same print?? This is bit wired as i had dealings with few of them and never noticed that.
