Printable umbrellas
Re: Printable umbrellas
We are a small Embroidery & Printing business, and have been asked if we can supply umbrellas for a local sports club. I have read reviews on here about the potential difficulty in doing this but we are prepared to try it anyway.
I am looking for suppliers of blank printable umbrellas. Can anyone help???
Many Thanks.

Re: Printable umbrellas
Try www.theumbrellacompany.co.uk/ I have used them before and they have been pretty good.
You will need a special base platen depending on the size of your image and you will need to make sure the umbrella you purchase is suitable for dye sub (it will tell you on the downloadable fact sheet).
They are quite awkward to print because of the size, but once mastered they look really good and there is a good mark up in them. Depending on how many your customer requires you could also try somewhere like Asda or the Pound shop.

Hi thanks for that, will check them out. Have thought about the likes of Asda, but was told most umbrellas are made of Nylon and poly.

Re: Printable umbrellas
If they have a poly content they might work, always worth a try as they will probably be your cheapest option.
Depends on the clients budget I suppose.

Re: Printable umbrellas
Be careful here some brollies print perfectly ok and look great the problem starts when water hits them some umbrellas especially the budget umbrellas have a waterproof coating which makes them water proof (obviously) when you heat press these umbrellas this can break down the waterproof coating the brollies will look great but leak like a caulander when it rains which is kinda counter productive in world of umbrellas and as already mentioned its a good idea to have an umbrella platern on your press though you can get away without one . we print hundreds of brollies what a pain in the arse they can be !!!

Thanks for that PURPLEDRAGON, never thought about that happening, perhaps best sticking to purpose made sublim brollies. Can you tell me where you get yours from?
