BMS versus XPRES mug
Re: BMS versus XPRES mug
Any thoughts as who does the better mug as far as washing in a dishwasher and longevity of print, I'm looking to try out some other suppliers as I've only ever used BMS in the past

Re: BMS versus XPRES mug
You could always get a sample of both and test yourself. I prefer to do this. I haven't used Xpres mugs for a good few years and I think they've since changed so can't really comment there. BMS European mugs are excellent and many members use them.

I have used signzworld twice, quite cheap, print well, wash well, quality isn't quite as good as BMS, but they are really helpful.

Re: BMS versus XPRES mug
I have used both and to be honest they are almost exactly the same. When I used Xpres I used to get more failures but that could be operator error
.
The other difference is that in the 10,000 or so mugs I have had from BMS I have only ever had 1 damaged box which had 5 breakages in it. I can not say the same for Xpres when I used to order from them.
Having said that, I am currently using the Extra White ones from BMS at 62p + VAT each. These have gone out across various music tours and not had one returned due to fading. I did have one come back because it was printed upside down which I blame BMS for!!!! I printed 1368 of these over the weekend and not one failure.
Extensive research on this tells me that the Extra Whites from BMS are currently the cheapest in the UK.
Just my two pennies worth.

Yes I use the BMS European mugs and find them brilliant but I would like to do some comparisons

yep another vote for their extra white ones, have used coralgraph ones once (pin holes, and no bubble wrap) and for the money the BMS ones are far better

Nowadays there is not much difference between all the reputable suppliers as the coatings have got better. Most of the time it just comes down to price. I used to import from China and also purchase from a large wholesaler in this country. But the Extra Whites work out only 8p dearer than importing and I do not have the cash tied up. The large wholesaler did sell really good mugs but are very much in Keramikos's pocket which meant if they wanted them there was nothing I could do. They constantly ran out of stock so I stopped using them in the end.
If money is not an obeject (relatively speaking) then I would suggest you get a couple of samples from Xpres and trying them on your press with your paper and your printer as this is the only true way of seeing the difference.
Would be interesting for a report back if you do go down this route.

Re: BMS versus XPRES mug
I have found that the xpres mug is the easiest mug to print out of all I have tried. Didn't actually like the cheap BMS mug when previously used but that might have been an old batch..... I should try again soon. European mugs coating will be better than the Xpres whilst cheaper BMS mug more of a match. Most mugs have decent coatings these days so it will largely come down to personal preferences.
