Re: Epson b1100 with refillable inks.....
Hi all, I'm still learning and I wonder if you could help me please?
Im looking at a epson b1100 with refillable carts...
that way I can buy the ink bulk...
i see a lot of problems with the bulk flow system, is this the same with refillable carts?
i see you can get 1 liter of saw grass ink for good prices, do I need profiles with these?

You may struggle to get a B1100 now as they are discontinued and you will need a profile although this is available from the Sawgrass website. You won't be able to buy 1 litre bottles of Sawgrass ink for use in a B1100 - these are only sold to customers with large format printers (greater than 42" wide print width).

I replaced my R1800 with CISS with a B1100 using re-fillable cartridges, best think I ever did.

Technically you can buy the bulk inks for whatever printer you want (in that it is possible to) but it is legally questionable from the point of view of the terms of the patent claim from Sawgrass. So, you have to ask whether it is worth the risk of buying such an ink, and and any potential legal ramifications that could ensue.
[SUP](This assuming Sawgrass would think it worth their while to persue legal action against you AND whether their patent is valid AND covers what they claim it does)[/SUP]

Been using the 1500 for a short while and it's performing well. I may be selling my B1100 soon.
