Re: First bulk run

Post by bigj2552 »

after putting out various free samples to local business's, i have had really good responce's back.
One serious one for - 1000 coasters plus 250+mugs.(price dependant)

question is - how much would you guys discount on this sort of volume ?
I already do a "multi-deal" offer on the coasters for 10+, but would you discount further if it was yourself getting this ?

have worked out a price, just wanted some input from the ol timers on here

johnny

edit - just had email from the factory -price for 500 and 1000 mugs....
If these guys order 1000 mugs, i will def need to buy the 5 mug press or another 2 single mug press's....take for ever to do this on 1 mug press .....
would be a nice little start so it would

You may not get many responses to this question but I will offer the following:

There are promotional suppliers out there that are just agents. They then contact the likes of you and me to actually print the item and then they add their mark up. Have a look round the web and you will find some that actually advertise their prices. Just pitch yours slightly lower.

difficult question this what you are asking is your competitor to tell you how much discount they give for bulk orders which in effect gives you an insight on how much you can under cut these prices i notice you havnt added what prices you have quoted?

Not suggesting you were checking competitors proices i suppuse i was just highlighting the fact of what you were asking may not recieve many replies and why as for checking you prices on your web site trawiling others web sites for prices is not something i spend my time doing but at the same time you couold easily do the same to get prices

500 mugs - £1.99 + vat
1000 mugs - £1.84 + vat
1000 coasters - £0.89 + vat

£45 + vat delivery

If you are talking a full colour print the above should be okay. Personally I would go slightly cheaper in case they find an alternative printer rather than 3rd party supplier to compare with.

It all depends on YOUR overheads and profit margins - so everyone will be different.

You can't compete with big mug printers on price and still make a decent profit.

i havnt a hope in hell in competing with the "big boys"...Dont think many on here can TBH...maybe one or two, but not many.

A. i,m only just started, so my name is not known on the web yet...but its getting there
B. there is no way i could afford the vast amount of stock the big boys get to maximize there profits....and i would need 6 large units to store the dam stuff..
Like everything else, it takes time to settle down and feel your way about....same with any new venture....
