Printing anything via sublimation has to go onto a pre-treated item otherwise there is no polyester/ polymer for the sublimation inks to bond with.does one have to buy pre treated ceramic tiles or can one transfer an image onto any ceramic tile please

That's great.
Does that also mean that the laser route doesnt require a pre treated surface like market miks mugs?

Re: Printing on ceramoc tiles
The laser process doesn't required any pre-treatment as this sticks to the surface of the item with the special glue effect on the papers. The quality is not the same as sublimation though.

That's fantastic news Martin.bms wrote:The laser process doesn't required any pre-treatment as this sticks to the surface of the item with the special glue effect on the papers. The quality is not the same as sublimation though.
My plan is/was to laser onto cheap ceramic tiles so that I can practice and also make promotional dummies .
I'll have to pop over to the shop and see what prices the sub tiles are.
