Pencil case nightmare!
Re: Pencil case nightmare!
Hi I'm new to sublimation so I bought a few items to practice on. However i'm having no look at all with pencil cases! I have set the press to firm pressure and bms say use 190 for 60 seconds but it comes out all faded and misty with some of the white still showing through. Should I just leave it in for longer or am i doing something wrong?? I'm down to my last one now lol so would really like to get it right before i order anymore.
Thanks xx

Yes it's a fabric one. I did that but wasn't sure how long to do it for so just gave it a quick 10 seconds ??
Re: Pencil case nightmare!
Do it untill you see some wapootating water. Cool it down and touch it. If is dry then press finaly artwork. I pressed few of them and never had one problem. What preasure you used? i used medium/heavy.

Ok thanks Paul. It says firm pressure on bms website so I was just following their instructions.
Re: Pencil case nightmare!
The settings sound right. Daft question, but you're using sublimation ink in the printer? Press is in degrees C not F? Press is getting very hot - can you verify temp?
... and you are just laying the flap in the press not the whole case?

Other point to mention is are you printing on the right side of the sublimation paper? Easiest way I find to check is with slightly damp finger and thumb rub both sides of the sheet. The side that feels stickier is your best candidate to being the right side to print on.
