that is an old saying from a old friend many years ago.....

AND ITS TRUE.....WHY ?

just had my second order from a new supplier to us - the first order, they NEVER supplied a bloody invoice(they say they did, but i got the dam proof they didnt..the other half of the invoice with bugger all on it).they charged my for 8 mugs that wern't supplied(still not replyed to my emails about this)...some items were on back order, they are slow as hell to answer any emails....na, sorry....i have just taken off the stuff/advertising i was gonna sell from them, and the stock i have bought, when it runs out, they will NOT be restocked.....others find them "OK"....

yes, ok, i admit we have had our head up our ass's over the last 8weeks with one thing and another(as you all do when starting new), and have had orders and samples from around 5 main suppliers but this one just aint on the ball compared to others on here...

ah well....live are definitely learned.

Well, supplier issues can be varied. I opened a box containing stock from a very reputable supplier and they had used film and flex scraps as packaging material. This would not be an issue but somehow and I am not saying this happened when the parcel was packed or somewhere else in the delivery chain (but no signs of parcel tempering were evident and no holes in the box), the film and flex scraps got covered in blue ink which just happened to go all over the carpet in the lounge. Never did work out where the ink came from and the supplier assures me it was not at their end. So with no one willing to take responsibility, the cost of cleaning up etc fell to me. The cleanup cost me a fair few hours of my time with a carpet shampooer etc. If this had been your first experience with a new supplier, would you be going back to them in the future?

I would be interested to hear what other peoples thoughts are. I know that after spending almost £800 with them to be blown off with 'This could not have happened at our end' did not sit well with me and still does not.

No supplier is faultless...even the well know ones on here lol.
But the differance is the way they handle the situation/problem, thats the key here - CUSTOMER SERVICE.

personally, i like to be able to a reply from a supplier within 2-4hrs from my email sent - hell AUTO RESPONDERS dont cost bugger all and are a doddle to set up...at least you know they have got the email through ..and that NOT a jibe at the suppliers already on here by the way.

as with your situation worth.... i wouldnt open anything on my lounge carpet....upstairs to office always with all orders.
and it probably was the junior guy who mucked up so they dont want to take the rap for it so...say it wasnt us.....hell, we could all do that, but most of us on here wouldnt have many customers left...and word spreads quickly bud...

i have in the last hr contacted another company who sell similar products to last one, so we will see how this one pans out...

Well, I did think it was a bit odd that they packaged with scrap film off cuts. To be honest it is bad enough getting rid of ones own waste. My neighbour recycles paper for me but not plastic film offcuts.

@bigj2552 Both my wife and I suffer from back issues and carrying stock upstairs requires it to be in a manageable size and weight limit. These boxes were too big and heavy to move without taking them up bit by bit and we hadent ordered anything liquid to which we thought a spill was a likely possibility. So yes, with hindsight I should have opened in the kitchen on the vinyl instead of on the best carpet lol

Well, yes I can think of lots of better ways to spend all my free time other than trying to get the carpet clean. I would not have minded but I never even placed the order! So with emailing the supplier back and forth and cleaning the carpet it was a totally wasted evening and worst still it was our wedding anniversary and because I could not leave the carpet we did not get to go out. I do not think she has forgiven me yet but you try telling the wife that if she will order items without telling me and they come packaged funnily then how can that be my issue! They just do not get it lol
