Re: Full Wrap Mugs - with straight sides?
Well I must admit that I would have named them and then waited for all the good and bad comments. By not naming them you also run the risk of assuming that yours is an isolated incident when others may be able to tell you of their experiences. I know it is difficult if you do not wish to diss a 'good' company but if they are 'good' then they are sure to have supports respond to say so.
For instance I emailed BTCactivewear over a month ago to ask to open an account. I never received a response and thought that they obviously had no interest in my business. However I had seen other members chatting about them in the forum and thought I would email them again to ask what their criteria for an account was. This time the email was actioned immediately, they had no record of my email arriving but admitted that sometimes their system junks emails etc and they then very kindly opened an account.
So it is a possibility that you have not had a reply as they have not had your email - have your tried calling them or emailing again?
Just like Royal Mail can lose mail it seems that a lot of email goes wanders also.

I get that sometimes with poor transfer paper contact. The funny thing is my customers think I have designed it to do that and are impressed by the effort I have put in to achieve that effect lolRenniwano;51480 wrote:Hmmm did they end up looking like this at the bottom ??

Try that same mug again with a 5mm gap at the top and bottom....personally I think that looks better as it borders the print in keeping with the gaps next to the handle
Re: Full Wrap Mugs - with straight sides?
Personally I like the border.. but what about when a customer wants a full wrap.. and you can't offer that because of what happens above ??

Re: Full Wrap Mugs - with straight sides?
Is the mug press nice and tight so you can see the blanket curl over the edge of the mug? You do need exceptionally good mugs to print full wrap, I try and avoid it but do the odd one. Even leaving a very small border of a couple of mm makes all the difference. Also, do you cut the transfer to fit or allow a bit of an overhang?
Apologies if this has been gone over here previously, just jumping in when I can

Re: Full Wrap Mugs - with straight sides?
I am kind of hijacking the OP now.. sorry.. but likewise I use wraps and an oven.. and wondered whether they could be the issue at all..
My paper is cut to size no overhang (should there be ?? lol).. clamps are tight to the point I sometimes struggle getting them undone whilst hot..
Other than full prints (which the mug above is the ONLY one I have ever tried.. and never retried) everything else comes out perfect

Re: Full Wrap Mugs - with straight sides?
I used to print a mug and fill it as much as I could - don't know why - I just prefered to do it that way.
Then after getting the odd one that 'ghosted' (colour never took at the bottom or top for one reason or another) I started to have a gap at the top and bottom and I do all mine that way now. They sit and present a lot better, and the customers love them.
A little like this (digital demo):
