there is a shop i know that is obviously trading but when you whois the domain it comes back with -

Registrant type:
UK Individual

Registrant's address:
The registrant is a non-trading individual who has opted to have their
address omitted from the WHOIS service.

i thought if you were trading you HAD to by law show your whois details ?

i have just updated mine to show sole trader as i will be with this store...
or should it be "uk individual ?

nope nothing to hide at all bud, that why i have changed them .....so why has this shop acting as an uk individual and listed on whois as NON TRADING, when they have a shop up the high street and has done for number of years.
and its not a company shop..its a one guy or woman/owner shop, if you know what i mean !

not sure about my facts here, but isnt it like a phone book? ie you can choose not to display your details to all & sundry if you dont want to - 'opt out' is an option after all?

Im sure on .com you can opt out but certainly not on .co.uk and a lot of others. But if your legit why opt out you can use your trading name and address
