My Logobear is a shop, in a busy market. we embroider, and do lots of T's - stag/hen and work/event/sponsorship/club/society/university type stuff.
My question is, is it worth offering personalised phone covers, - what can you charge ?
I have been caught in the past with stock (printer inks etc) thaT QUICKLY GO OUT OF FAVOUR AS NEWER MODELS COME IN, also, we prefere to sell T's by the dozen, - for a hen do or whatever, as oppose to single items.
It seems that phone covers involve carrying stock of a number of current phone models, and each 'job' is done as a one off, so there is no opportunity to do a batch or run, so each sale is a single item.
We only sell face2face, and I am seeking profit opportunity, not extra work opportunity, - if you see what I mean!
If the blanks are a couple of quid, and we have to apply the magic 'process' - can it sell (quite easily) for the same price, or more, than a tshirt?
I mean, a blank T costs just over a quid, as oppose to a blank phone case about double, media cost is under 50p in either case, but will people beat a path to my door?
Can I charge £15 or more a unit? - we do for T's....
How do I promote this service, it it worthwhile?
Thanks
Phil Logobear!

Phil,
We do same as you and have just started to promote phone covers we only carry a minimal stock which adds up to £50 as suppliers are quick on delivery to replenish also if we dont have it there tell customer takes 48hrs for print they accept this pay and come back.
We are in some ways lucky as we have customer who we do signage and posters etc for who does phone repair he promotes the covers takes orders etc we pay him £1.50 a sale so that makes another outlet to us
work this out to normal retail customer on high st
we buy cover £2.40(approx but usually less) print cost £0.85 (at most) = £3.25 we retail in shop at £8.95 our phone guy sells at £9.25 .
Profit exc overheads in shop £5.70 at phone guy £4.50 average sales a day is 9
now thats a rough guide below our sales etc
